Before MagicBlocks, we ran lead generation businesses across mortgage, insurance, auto, home services, and finance. We generated and sold over $200 million in leads — and watched what happened to most of them.

Not much.

Leads sat in queues. Reps called back too late. Follow-up died after the second attempt. Aged databases rotted in CRMs. The problem wasn't the leads. The problem was what happened between the lead and the sale. And it was broken in the same four places, in every industry, at every company.

Slow response. Poor qualification. Inconsistent follow-up. Forgotten databases.

We tried to fix it with people. More reps. More training. More managers. It helped — a little. But people are expensive, inconsistent, and they go home at 5pm. The leads don't. So we built a system that works like the best rep you've ever had — but runs around the clock, picks up every lead in the queue, and gets better with every conversation.

2016 – 2022

Six years running lead-gen businesses across mortgage, insurance, solar, auto, home services and finance. Watching what happened to most of the leads we sold. Not much.

June 2023

World's first AI mortgage team

Built the first AI sales team running every day in regulated finance. Inbound mortgage leads, qualified borrowers, multi-turn conversations across SMS, email, and chat. Compliance guardrails built into the instructions, not bolted on.

2024

MagicBlocks

The mechanism behind that AI mortgage team — productised. Same playbooks, same Guardian compliance, same memory model. Now running across mortgage, finance, auto, home services, solar, fintech, and tourism.

The breakthrough

June 2023. We launched the world's first AI mortgage team.

Not a chatbot on a website. A full AI sales team — handling inbound mortgage leads, qualifying borrowers, running multi-turn conversations across SMS, email, and chat, and handing warm leads to human loan officers.

In one of the most regulated, highest-stakes corners of finance. Where a wrong word in a text triggers a compliance issue. Where the difference between a qualified lead and a wasted hour is a single question asked at the right moment.

It worked. Not perfectly — nothing does on day one. But it worked well enough to prove the AI could do what we'd been paying humans to do inconsistently for twenty years. Faster. Around the clock. At a fraction of the cost.

That's when we knew this wasn't a feature for our lead-gen business. It was a company.
